Episode 1: Lesson- First Impressions

The lesson of the night from Fonzworth Bentley was first impressions...

Lesson 1: First Impressions

The moment you walk into the room people are trying to figure you out: how you look, how dress, how firm your handshake is- these are queues people use to evaluate you. Leave a bad impression and it may last forever. You never have a second opportunity to leave a first impression.

Boycott MTV's From G's to Gents?

Many people believe that this show is a continuation of the coonery of MTV and Viacom as a whole. Flavor of Love is a coon fest, I Love New York is pretty disgusting, Charm School was hood, and Now From G's to Gents... do you think it's as bad?

Look at some people's opinion:

Episode 1: Personal Views (MTV's From G's to Gents)

The Truth got into Arguments

All 14 guys go into the house, they check it out, get drunk, then get their official club blazers. Fonzworth Bentley announces that their first lesson and challenge will be about First Impressions. He explains that while they are outside having dinner, he'll pull them into the brandy room to get to learn more about each person.

The guys were basically getting drunk and acting like wangsters (wack-ass gansgters) as they awaited the 2:1 talks with Mr. Bentley. And I must say, Pretty Ricky was the guy of the show- getting drunk hitting on chicks and peeing in the backyard- it wasn't a good look.

During the interviews we find out alot about the guys: Stan is a stripper, Creppa calls his glasses "hater blockers" and he proclaims himself as a goon... lol, yeah right dude, no "goon" would ever be on a reality show unless it's a behind the scenes look into America's prison system... but anyway, The Truth got into arguments with several guys in the house and Bentley Fonzworth didn't like him too much either.

After dinner and the interviews each guy had to cast there Black Ball Vote- in which each guy voted for who he thought should go home. Majority of the G's got no votes except for:

The truth- 5 votes
Pretty Ricky- 7 votes
Creepa- 1 (Zenel voted for him)
E6- 1

In the End:
Pretty Ricky went home: He was drunk as hell all episode and he wore a white blazer over his club jacket, which irked some people.

The Truth went home: E6 plotted against him heavily and told everyone to vote for him and it worked.

Ep. 1 | Gees Whiz- MTV's From G's to Gents

Upon arrival at the Club, the G's will have an impromptu ettiquette test. When the winning G is rewarded with a diamond Rolex, G's quickly remember why they are there--to become Gents and enjoy the spoils that come with (in this case $100,000!). Later that night, G's must formally present themselves one at a time to Fonzworth, displaying their self worth, detailing their goals and aspirations, and answering a barrage of tough questions.

Stan

As a male stripper who's used to taking off his clothes for money, Stan isn't exactly one to don fancy suits to earn a paycheck. He defines his G status by the number of girls he gets, which is surprising considering that he has admittedly never "made love," held a door open or done anything gentlemanly for a woman.

Stan's childhood in Detroit was a trying time for the young G, and it forced him to appreciate the little things in life and learn talents that he wouldn't have otherwise pursued. But only time will tell if these unique talents will help him succeed on From G's to Gents. Does he have what it takes to succeed?

Pretty Ricky

Growing up in a broken home on the mean streets of San Diego left Pretty Ricky with only one obvious career choice: professional fighter. Though this G is tough as nails, his friends say he's not quite as sharp. As a self-made man, he's a little self-centered, but he's also considered charismatic and very outgoing.

Pretty Ricky is motivated by his ex-girlfriend. He wants to prove to her that he's more than a buff bod with a wacky fashion sense, and thinks that succeeding on From G's to Gents is the way to do it. But will this boorish brawler crack under the pressure or shine like a diamond?

J-Boogie

The self-proclaimed sexiest and coolest Asian on the planet, J-Boogie spends his days working in a lab. But at night, he becomes the G he wants to be. Despite his drab day job, he's confident that he's a natural born G.

J-Boogie idolizes Jay-Z, and hopes to become as influential as the rap legend. First, he'll have to ditch the attitude and put everything he has into winning From G's to Gents.

J-Boogie claims he got his survival-of-the-fittest mentality by growing up in Pomona, Calif. But will his need to prove that he's as hardcore as the other G's hurt him in his quest to become a gent?

Zenel

Growing up in a wild and crazy neighborhood in the Bronx gave native Puerto Rican Zenel a tough outer shell. As far as he's concerned, a real G is king of the block, possessing both street smarts and leadership skills. Zenel thinks he's got plenty of both -- and plumbing skills to boot!

As a working model, Zenel has the trendsetting aspect of G-hood on lockdown. Now he needs to translate his confidence on the runway into gentlemanly prowess so he can triumph on From G's to Gents. Will he be able to break free of his rough ways and embrace his inner nobleman?

Shaun

The son of a Marine, and a former Navy man himself, Shaun is a rough-and-tumble bouncer who knows the streets. His mouthful of gold, baggy clothes and numerous tats are what make Shaun a true G, but he thinks he's ready to ditch all of that to become a certified gent.

This pool-playing gun enthusiast from the Bronx says he never takes anything for granted, but there are 13 other G's who feel the same way, and only one can prevail on From G's to Gents. A gamer at heart, Shaun is ready to do whatever it takes to win. Will he rise to the top?

D-Boy

As the only married G, D-Boy has extra pressure to succeed. Victory on From G's to Gents would mean that the Detroit-dwelling dry cleaner could better provide for his family. D-Boy feels that life on the wrong side of the tracks has instilled in him a "real" love of people, something that sets him apart from the other G's.

According to D-Boy, a real G is recognizable the second they walk into a room. He's got that down, but now he wants to be recognized in a different light. Can this Motor City mack shed his tough exterior and bring home the bacon?

Mikey P

Mikey P may not be as unkempt as some of the other G's: he doesn't drink, he takes 15 minutes to do his hair and he even irons his underwear! But his ability to be cool and a jerk at the same time is what he thinks makes him a worthy G. Hailing from Lumberton, N.J., this motorcycle-riding bartender/rapper/promoter knows how to work a crowd.

As someone who takes great pride in his appearance and commands respect, Mikey P seems well on his way to becoming a gent. But can he keep that trend going or will his G tendencies get the better of him on From G's to Gents?

Shotta

Shotta has been through it all, taking life as it comes at him. He admits to being a hustler and not being able to hold a legit job. In fact, before moving into the Gentleman's Club, the introverted Brooklyn native was living out of his Mercedes, which he bought during his baller days. Now he strives for a better life.

Having lived everywhere from Panama to San Diego to New York City, Shotta thinks his life experiences can help him transform from G to gent with ease. But will he really be able to put his past to rest and become a true gentleman?

T-Jones

Although he grew up on Detroit's infamous 6 Mile Road, T-Jones is caring, sensitive and has a great sense of humor. A home healthcare provider, he is proud of the fact that he's there for people on a day-to-day basis. Still, he wouldn't mind being Jay-Z for a minute -- to get a taste of what it's like to have money ... and Beyoncé.

T-Jones is a G that you won't soon forget, even if you try. An all-around funnyman, he thinks his humor will help him through the process of becoming a gent. But will this gentle G be able to handle what goes down during From G's to Gents?

Kesan

Kesan believes his swagger is what enables him to stay on top of his game and overcome the worst situations in life, including watching his roommate try to commit suicide. The New Brunswick, N.J., waiter hopes to harness that enduring attitude and use it to become an award-winning actor and singer.

Once signed to Akon's record label, Konvict Muzik, Kesan watched his shot at stardom slip through his fingers when he started running with a bad crowd that led him down the wrong path. Although he's admittedly a bit wild, Kesan is a good guy and loyal friend. Will From G's to Gents give him a second chance at making his dream a reality?

The Truth

The Truth thinks being a G is all about swagger, whereas being a gentleman is all about being respectful -- and he's definitely got the swagger down. The loudmouth native New Yorker strives to be as "real" as possible, which usually gets him into trouble.

Working in home improvements, The Truth wants to become a successful businessman and make as much money as humanly possible. While his ideas run the gamut, he knows it's just a matter of time until he nails down the right one.

The Truth is overly confident and has no problem making himself right at home in a room full of strangers. But will things get too close for comfort on From G's to Gents?

E6

An aspiring rapper, E6 believes that growing up in a rough neighborhood made him the G that he is today. The Brooklyn boy isn't intimidated by anyone -- except his parents, who he still lives with -- and he can definitely hold his own in any situation.

E6 grew up doing whatever he could to make money on the streets and has run into trouble with the law due to an uncontrollable urge to make "art" (ie: graffiti).

An unemployed father of two, E6 hopes to one day be able to support himself and his family. He thinks he has a lot of good business ideas that could make him very successful. But does he have the goods to go from G to gent?

Cee

Cee thinks being a G means having the ability to stay sharp, make money and always be "real." A budding radio personality/comedian, the Barnegat, N.J., native dreams of going legit by opening his own radio station and putting his hustler days behind him.

Growing up, Cee's family was constantly moving. Now that he's a father, he wants to give his daughter a stable family life. Although her mother is Cee's close confidant, they are not together.

Cee believes that his ability to adapt to any situation gives him a leg up on the competition. But is it enough for him to win From G's to Gents?

Creepa

Fonzworth Bentley. The name itself invokes the very essence of coolness and elegance, and those two qualities are precisely what set him above the rest. He is the quintessential gentleman.

Born Derek Watkins in Atlanta, Fonzworth Bentley originally came onto the hip-hop scene as Diddy's flawlessly dressed personal assistant, and his sense of style and impeccable manners earned him a reputation as a man of class.

After making the rounds in the entertainment business, appearing in films like Honey and Fat Albert and on Diddy's Making the Band 2, Fonzworth Bentley eventually settled into his role as the authority on all things gentlemanly. His book, Advance Your Swagger: How to Use Manners, Confidence and Style to Get Ahead, focuses on bringing grace and dignity to everyday life. Indeed, the suave charmer dreams of a day when "please" and "thank you" are commonly used words.

Fonzworth Bentley always seemed destined for celebrity status, but during his childhood it appeared as though music would be his claim to fame. By age 2, he was studying violin, eventually becoming concertmaster at his performing arts high school. Though his charm is what put him on the map, Fonzworth hasn't lost his love of music. In 2008, he was putting the finishing touches on his debut album, Cool Outrageous Lovers of Uniquely Raw Style (C.O.L.O.U.R.S.).

Now, Fonzworth Bentley's wisdom in the ways of etiquette is being put to the ultimate test. Fonzworth has teamed up with producer Jamie Foxx for From G's to Gents, the most dignified reality series ever. Fonzworth's methods may have taken him to the top, but can he teach 14 of the roughest G's what it means to be a gentleman?

From G's to Gents

Gentleman (jent'l man): A courteous, gracious man with a strong sense of honor.

You know what it means, but what does it take to be a true gentleman? You're about to find out...

From G's to Gents rounds up 14 rough-around-the-edges young men from across the country and gives them the opportunity of a lifetime -- the chance to go from G to gent and walk away with some cold, hard cash!

From executive producer Jamie Foxx, From G's to Gents schools diamonds in the rough on how to lose the front, learn self-respect, realize their self-worth and market themselves accordingly. The wannabe gentlemen learn everything from style and grace to etiquette and chivalry. The G's discover that with the right tools, they can become true gents.

Upon setting foot inside their posh Hollywood Hills mansion -- known as the Gentleman's Club -- the boys are whipped into shape by host Fonzworth Bentley, the quintessential gentleman.

After stealing the spotlight as Diddy's flawlessly dressed personal assistant, Fonzworth's sense of style and impeccable manners earned him a reputation as a man of class. His book, Advance Your Swagger: How to Use Manners, Confidence and Style to Get Ahead, focuses on bringing grace and dignity back to everyday life. Indeed, the dapper gent dreams of a day when "please" and "thank you" are part of the world's vernacular again.

When it comes to going From G's to Gents, no stone is left unturned. Each episode, the G's will be taught an important lesson -- from how to make a good first impression and always look their best to how to maintain a positive attitude and keep their composure in the face of conflict to how to treat a lady and speak eloquently.

Watching these G's shed their grills, shave their mohawks, lay down their 40s and forget all those four-letter words is a guaranteed good time. But this isn't just a life lesson; this is a competition -- one that's worth $100,000. So each episode, the G that fails to grow closer to becoming a gent is denied entrance into the Gentleman's Club. The G's will undergo a total transformation; one that forces them to answer tough questions about who they are and who they hope to become. They will strive to show the world their full potential. But, in the end, only one will graduate from G to gent. Who will it be?
